UBC PENTHOUSE RENOVATIONS
SIZE: 4,700 SF
VALUE: $1,600,000
COMPLETION: 2025
This project represents one of the most exclusive and high-value penthouse renovations within the University of British Columbia community — a full transformation of a premier residence at the top of a concrete high-rise.
The renovation involved comprehensive interior reconfiguration, custom architectural millwork, imported stone surfaces, high-end appliance integration, and upgraded mechanical and electrical systems to support a luxury lifestyle standard. Every detail was executed with precision — from acoustic enhancements and specialty lighting to climate control calibration for sensitive materials and instruments.
A defining moment of the project was the delivery and installation of a concert-grade Steinway & Sons Grand Piano. Due to access limitations, the piano was carefully hoisted by construction crane to the penthouse level, requiring meticulous coordination between crane operators, envlope engineers, building management, and specialty movers. The lift demanded exact timing, wind assessment, structural load review, and controlled placement to ensure both safety and preservation of the instrument.
The result is a refined, statement residence that combines architectural craftsmanship with engineering precision — where luxury execution meets logistical complexity at the highest level of residential construction.
